Delete My Account – DebateHub

At DebateHub, we respect your privacy and provide you with the ability to delete your account if you no longer wish to use our platform. Below, you’ll find the steps to request account deletion and details on how we handle your data.
How to Delete Your Account
If you would like to permanently delete your DebateHub account, follow these steps:
Log in to the DebateHub app.
Go to Settings > Delete My Account.
Confirm your request by following the on-screen instructions.
Alternatively, you can request account deletion by contacting us at tymatson@debatehub.app with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" from the email associated with your DebateHub account.
What Happens When You Delete Your Account?
When you request account deletion:
✅ Your personal information (email, username, and profile data) will be permanently deleted.
✅ Your participation history, including created topics and comments, will be removed from your profile.
✅ Your account credentials and settings will be erased from our system.
What Data is Retained?
While most of your data is deleted, some information may be retained under the following conditions:
Public Contributions: Any arguments, comments, or discussions that were publicly posted may remain visible but will be anonymized (e.g., instead of your username, it will show "Deleted User").
Legal & Security Compliance: Some data may be retained if required by law or for security purposes (e.g., to prevent abuse or comply with legal obligations).
